USA Michigan helped take me to the next level. During practices and camps, we were expected to learn, put into practice new skills and always try our best, giving everything we had, not only so that we could succeed as an individual player, but so that our team could succeed. I learned top-level fundamentals and skills that greatly improved my high school game. I became a more coach-able player, and consistently put the effort and work in during every single practice, leading to game day results. The work ethic and importance of building on learned, foundational skills that I gained from USA Michigan are what I will be taking with me to the next level at Michigan State University where I will be participating on the women’s rowing team. I will have some tough workouts ahead and new skills to learn, but am confident I am prepared to do what it takes to succeed as a D1 collegiate athlete.

My time at USA Michigan provided me with many memorable experiences. I felt constantly surrounded by people who encouraged and supported my success. Each season presented me with the opportunity to meet new people and expand my level of play. Due to my time on USA Michigan teams and my lessons with Coach Buck, I developed the confidence to play at the next level.
Krystina Kasson, Central Michigan University Women’s Volleyball Team 2025
USA Michigan helped me prepare for college athletics by holding me and my teammates to a high standard in practice. I remember being reminded in practice about the small details. For example, face your coach with appropriate body language and eye contact when they are talking. Our coaches also pushed us in practice, which helped us prepare for tournaments and power leagues. I was always challenged and learning something new in practice.

During my time playing for USA Michigan, I gained not only technical skills but skills that I will continue to use for a lifetime. The coaching style that Coach Buck enforces is unlike anything I had ever experienced but learned to appreciate greatly. The high standard that was set for us as athletes shaped me into a more disciplined player that benefited me in high school and followed me later into college. Having a strong background of rigorous training gave me an advantage over the other players when it came to high school and college volleyball. I was able to focus and implement the direction I was given in a timely manner that would allow me to see more time on the court. I am forever thankful and will cherish my time playing at USA Michigan. I can honestly say, I wouldn’t have had the volleyball career that I did if it wasn’t for USA Michigan.
Laken Groll, Olivet College Woman’s Volleyball Team
“I was looking for a club to provide me with high quality technical training, and USA Michigan provided just that. The coaches are incredible; they took the time to learn how each player best receives coaching and were able to create a coaching atmosphere that fit each individual specifically, as well as the team as a whole. The coaches are also incredibly knowledgeable about volleyball. They are able to make specific fundamental corrections with explanations and encouragement so strong that it almost makes the change feel natural. I feel so lucky to have experienced the training at USA Michigan. The pace of collegiate volleyball is just too fast for technical corrections, and I am so grateful that I had my USA Michigan training to carry me through.”
Faith Hayes, West Liberty University Women’s Volleyball Team 2022
